Pup Progress: 6 Weeks

Yea, I know, still no photos, unfortunately my little point and shoot camera has stopped pointing and shooting. Never fear, I should be able to borrow another one and have some new photos up by the end of the week.
The pups have been seen by the vet and have received all the shots and wormings they can have at this age. When reserving one please state your preference, whether male or female.

Quick Tips

Being a first time puppy/dog owner can be a bit overwhelming, here are a few tips to help with the process.
  • Try to purchase all the necessary supplies prior to bringing home the puppy. Some of the items you will need immediately are: puppy food, feeding/drinking bowls, dog bed/crate (optional).
  • Check the internet for advice/information. If you intend to housetrain your pet, you can get some great tips online. One of my favorite websites for info is http://www.askabreeder.com/. This site offers tips on potty training, feeding, general health, etc.
  • Make sure you stay up to date with the vaccinations. Especially important during the pups first few months when they are most vulnerable.
  • Although you can have your pet dewormed at the vet, it may be more convenient, as the puppy becomes older, to purchase your own deworm medication. I currently use, Hartz Rid Worm Liquid for Puppies and Dogs. I purchase it when I visit the United States. However, other brands work just as well and you may be able to purchase them locally at Ross University.
  • Protect the pup against ticks and fleas. I unfortunately have not had much luck using products sold in the supermarkets. For effective protection, Frontline is a good choice.
  • If you have kids in your family teach them to be gentle with them and to also respect the times when they need to rest/sleep.
Hope this helps:)

Pups Progress: Almost five weeks old

Hi, just a quick update on how the pups are coming along hopefully, I will get a chance to post some photos tomorrow. As the title suggest the pups will be 5 weeks old tomorrow and they are growing fast, their distinct personalities are beginning to emerge now as well. Some are more inquisitive than others and some are more vocal than their counterparts.
As I mentioned in a previous post, they were scheduled for a dose of deworming medication, which they all did receive, along with their mom. I have been giving them solid foods in order to slowly wean them off of their mother. I started out giving them soft (wet) food from the tin, but will start them on the dry dog food next week, as this helps to clean their teeth and is more economical.
When the pups reach their six week mark, I will be taking them to the vet for their first round of vaccines and their third dose of dewormer. Once the pups reach their 7-8 week mark, they will finally be ready to go to their new homes.

Male (Black & White)
Male (White w/dark and light brown markings)
Female (Brown with black markings)
Male (White & Black)

Two (2) Males and One (1) Female - White

I have started them on solid foods and they have been eating Purina brand food for about a week now. Additionally, they have received their first dose of dewormer, another dose will be administered at the end of this week. During their sixth week, I will be taking them to the vet for their immunizations. They will receive, at this visit, additional dewormer.
The pups will be ready just in time for Xmas. Please contact me if you are interested in purchasing one of these pups.
